Constructed by the Dutch ship building company Oceanco, the Seven Seas is a 282-foot superyacht built for the legendary film director Steven Spielberg. The $200-million superyacht has all the usual comforts like a fully equipped gymnasium, a helipad, two cinemas and a spa and massage room. Delivered in 2010, the Seven Seas is one of the most expensive yachts available for charter at over US$1 million for 12 guests enjoying a week in the Caribbean. But, apparently it is well worth it.
Ultra Comfort and Style
The Seven Seas can comfortably accommodate 12 guests and 26 crew members – enough to ensure absolute comfort for every visitor. The sizable master suite, study, private owner’s deck and private Jacuzzi deck ensures an exclusive experience for Spielberg himself, even when entertaining guests. The interior is tastefully decorated by the esteemed design firm Nuvolari & Lenard and boasts great expanses of walnut, rosewood and teak. Guests can also look forward to using the two custom-built onboard tenders. One is a 30-foot open sport boat and the other a 34-foot limousine boat.
The Magic of Spielberg
A tremendously influential film personality since the 50s, Steven Spielberg is known for producing and directing some of the most successful contemporary films. He is also one of the wealthiest people in film and clearly decided to spend some of his wealth on his passion for the ocean. According to rumours, the famous director took the Seven Seas on a trip down memory lane when visiting places that he first explored while filming some of his movies, like Sri Lanka and North Africa where he directed Indiana Jones, China where Empire of the Sun was filmed, and Hawaii where parts of Jurassic Park came to life.
Perfect for a Movie Mogul
When Steven Spielberg or his guests are enjoying the luxurious yacht’s infinity pool, they don’t have to miss out on any Hollywood action. The 150-foot glass wall next to the pool doubles up as a movie screen, making it easy to spend time at the pool while watching blockbusters at the same time.
