Siren – Award-Winning Luxury
A ‘siren song’ is a mythical melody sung by mermaids to lure sailors to them, often leading to a bad conclusion. Unlike the myth, visiting the superyacht Siren usually leads to an excellent conclusion of having an enjoyable time in absolute luxury. Winner of the 2009 World Superyachts Awards in the Best Displacement Motor Yacht between 60m and 84m, Siren is a luxurious yacht with fantastic outdoor areas and a beautiful interior.
Elegance and Absolute Comfort
Constructed in 2008 by the innovative German shipyard Nobiskrug, the 241-foot superyacht has six cabins, a master suite, a VIP stateroom, three double cabins and a twin cabin. Up to 12 guests can be comfortably accommodated in the luxuriously appointed rooms. The master suite has a fold-out balcony from which special guests can enjoy a stunning view of the ocean and the skies. Siren also has space for a crew of up to 18 staff members to ensure a carefree trip for every guest. The elevator, lift and Wi-Fi connection on board provide luxurious comforts and the Jacuzzi on the deck makes every evening an opportunity to enjoy an al fresco glass of champagne on the ocean immersed in warm, bubbly water.
With an impressive array of entertainment and leisure facilities on board, Siren is an ideal yacht for an active and social trip. The superbly styled interior of Siren was refurbished in 2013 and is elegant and contemporary. Interior spaces flow seamlessly from one to another and onto open deck areas. Visitors will find a supersized swimming pool adjacent to a bar and lounge area. There is also a raised semi-circular sunbathing area which can be converted into a helicopter landing pad. Siren also has satellite TV and telephones and a well-equipped gym. The Siren has a cinema room on the bridge deck and an outside cinema on the sun deck. Recreation facilities are geared for water enthusiasts and include jet skis, water-skis, snorkelling gear, kayaks, wave runners, fishing equipment, wakeboards and a Pico sailboat.
The Reuben Brothers – A Self-Made Success Story
With a net worth of around US$14.4 billion, David and Simon Reuben are self-made billionaires from England. The main source of their wealth is a metals company called Transworld Metals. They are also active in private equity investments and in real estate developments.
Neither one of the Reuben brothers are highly educated – David only completed basic secondary education and Simon dropped out of school. Simon Reuben has been quoted as saying, “I can’t read a computer screen and never use a calculator. It’s all in my head and by hand”. David started working in scrap metals and Simon began his career in the carpet industry. After taking ownership of a carpet company, the brothers started investing in property. In later years they invested in the Russian metals market and became one of the largest aluminium producers in the world.
