Lady M II – Where Speed and Luxury Meet
Alexei Mordashov loves luxurious seafaring vessels – just like Andrey Melnichenko, Suleyman Kerimov, Viktor Rashnikov and many other wealthy Russian oligarchs. These Russians seem to like everything to excess, and it is only good enough for them if it is highly luxurious, costs a fortune and it is super-fast. Mordashov’s superyacht Lady M II falls into all three categories – just perfect for a Russian oligarch.
Fast, Faster, Fastest
Lady M II is the first sports yacht in the PJ 210 series. She is powerfully navigated by two MTU16V4000 engines and can comfortably reach a speed of up to 28 knots. Designed by the illustrious Italian design firm Nuvolari Lenard, the Lady M II sports a spectacular Art Deco prow figure in the form of a giant Jaguar. Nuvolari Lenard also designed Reinhold Würth’s exquisite yacht the Vibrant Curiousity.
Amenities on the Lady M II
Worth an estimated US$50 to US$60 million, the Lady M II has ample accommodation for up to 12 guests and 15 crew members. The yacht is luxuriously furnished and beautifully decorated in a classical style in beige and brown. Visitors can have fun in and on the ocean with a range of water toys including Yamaha wave runners, fishing equipment, water-skis, snorkelling gear, towable inflatables and scuba diving equipment. On-board the Lady M II they will enjoy a smooth journey with stabilizers at anchor and underway, air conditioning throughout, a Jacuzzi on deck and a well-equipped gym for the health conscious. The touch and go helipad on the yacht is constructed for a Eurocopter and the tender on-board is a Windy Dubois tender named Little M.
Alexei Mordashov – Owner of the Lady M II
Mordashov also has vested interests in a diverse range of other industries in companies like Tele2Russia, Power Machines, Bank Rossiya and TUI. His business dealings have helped Mordashov amass great wealth and he has an estimated net worth of US$ 13 billion.
Politics and Philanthropy
Besides Mordashov’s expansive business interests, he is also actively involved with charitable causes. Through Severstal, he donates over US$50 million every year. Mordashov has a strong interest in politics and is rumoured to have close ties to the Russian President Vladimir Putin. In 2015 Putin gave Mordashov sound advice not to make unwise investments. Soon after the advice the businessman starting placing focus on investments in Russia, instead of the United States.
