Pioneers of Serial Hybrid Propelled Luxury Superyachts

Wider is an Italian yacht building company with a strong focus on contemporary ergonomic design and green technology. Headquartered in Ancona, Italy, Wider also has an operational base in Monaco.

Sailing Through Time

Launched in 2010 by long-time sailor and highly regarded yacht maker Tilli Antonelli, Wider soon began manufacturing its first yacht, the Wider 42. This revolutionary model paved the way for the company to become synonymous with innovation and style in the yachting world. Patented with the launch of the Wider 42, the expanding cockpit is a perfect reflection of the level of innovation this brand stands for.

The Wider 32 was the next addition to the collection, followed by the Wider 150, launched in 2015. Renamed Genesi and then M/Y Bartali, this yacht was delivered in 2017 to an anonymous Canadian buyer. Wider 165 was the next yacht to be launched by Wider. After setting sail for the first time in 2018, this vessel went on to win an award at the Boat International World Superyacht Awards in the category of: “Displacement motor yacht between 300 and 499GT – 48m and above.”

Continuing a Tradition of Excellence

In 2013 Marcello Maggi, who previously co-founded ISA Yachts with Gianluca Fenucci, acquired Wider with two investment partners. Maggi was always interested in Wider’s innovative work and found the hybrid propulsion systems used on Wider yachts fascinating. When he tried the Wider 165, he was impressed by the yacht’s silent mode. What sealed the deal was the vessel’s impressive green credentials; a Platinum Green Plus Award.

After he left ISA, Maggi invested in renewable energy and began consulting for Silent Yachts, a company that manufactures solar-powered catamarans. He hopes to make hybrid superyachts that embrace clean energy technology. Maggi owns a 57% stake in Wider alongside Hopafi Holding and Zepter Group.

What Makes Wider Different?

Every Wider yacht has a perfect balance between high-tech performance and comfort. Every vessel that leaves the Wider yard is constructed with high-quality materials. Care is taken to ensure top-notch performance while being conscious of maintaining low fuel consumption. Living spaces are designed to be flexible and with luxurious living in mind.

Besides the company’s focus on high-quality yachts and eco-friendly innovation, Wider also claims that, with their unique approach to hybrid propulsion and ergonomic design, they’ve created an entirely new style and category of yachts. All express cruisers manufactured by Wider sport the brand’s patented expanding cockpits and the superyachts have spacious beach clubs. Both designs were created to give travelers ample space to relax and unwind on the ocean.
