The Tennis Star With a Passion for Yachts

During an interview with Boat International the tennis ace Rafael Nadal expressed his love of yachting and how he decided to invest in a yacht. Nadal said that owning a yacht gives him the opportunity to forget about everything and escape from his stress. The tennis star also confessed to having such passion for superyachts that he can recognise most of the superyachts of the world’s oceans from a distance. It’s this passion that prompted Nadal to buy his own yacht – the Beethoven. It is rumoured that the yacht was named Beethoven because of the tennis player’s love of going to symphony concerts.

Sleek Italian Style

Delivered in the Spring of 2016 the Beethoven is a sleek and stylish 23.5 metre motor yacht. She is a Monte Carlo Yacht 76 and was constructed in Montefalcone in Italy by the French company Beneteau. This particular model is one of the company’s best sellers and costs around 2.5 million Euro. The interior and exterior were both designed by the well-known Italian design team Nuvolari Lenard. The stateroom, kitchen and cabins are decorated in neutral tones that feature accents of stone and slate with wooden finishes. The deck is expansive and ideal for enjoying al fresco dining or sunset cocktails on. The Beethoven features a bimini top and a flybridge and provides comfortable accommodation to up to eight guests and two crew members.

High Performance

Besides being beautifully designed and lavishly appointed, the Beethoven also packs a powerful punch when it comes to its performance on the ocean. The yacht is driven by two MAN V12 1,400 Hp engines can easily achieve a top speed of 31 knots. For relaxing cruises on the ocean the Beethoven sticks to 26 knots.
