British Princess Beatrice and Oprah Living it up on the Water
In her most lavish jet-setting jaunt yet, Princess Beatrice was spotted off the Spanish coast. The princess was relaxing on Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich’s £1.5 billion mega yacht Eclipse before visiting Oprah, on yet another luxury yacht.
As many as 17 holidays in eight months
They royal holiday-maker left her role as intern at Sony Pictures last year. It was revealed that her salary was around £20,000 per annum and she left after the company was hacked and her earnings were publicised. It is not known whether the hacking had any influence on her decision to quit her job. Since she stopped working Beatrice has enjoyed a range of holidays that included four skiing holidays, two trips to the United States where she visited New York twice and also Florida, two trips to Italy and two to an island in the Caribbean called St Barts. In other excursions the 27-year old visited Bahrain, China, Greece, the UAE, the Bahamas and China. Beatrice was joined by her long-time partner Dave Clark on the yacht trip, which is rumoured to be her 17th holiday since her wanderlust set in.
Fit for royalty
The Eclipse is a luxury motor yacht constructed by the German shipyard Blohm & Voss for the Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich. Known for his opulent tastes, Abramovich also owns a collection of other yachts and the popular English football club Chelsea. The Eclipse is the second largest private yacht in the world and measures 163.5 meters long. With 24 luxury guest suites, two swimming pools, two helicopter pads, several Jacuzzis and a hall created purely for discos, the Eclipse is also one of the most luxurious yachts to sail the oceans – and certainly fit for a princess and her beau.
Not just one luxury yacht for the young royal’s holiday
After spending some time on the Russian billionaire’s magnificent yacht, Beatrice and Dave visited yet another deluxe ship. The couple were invited to have drinks with television talk-show queen Oprah Winfrey. Oprah and her best friend Gayle King were spending some time on the Rising Sun, Hollywood business magnate and money-maker David Geffen’s 138 meter super yacht. Although not quite as opulent as the Eclipse, the Rising Sun boasts over 8,000 square meters of living space, a private cinema, a wine cellar and a basketball court. Disney CEO Bob Iger was also seen on the yacht during this time, likely taking a much needed break away from the financial woes of the company with the recent drastic decline in stock prices.
Determined to ‘knuckle-down’ or to travel around?
According to the media, Beatrice moved to the United State around a month before she was seen carousing on the yachts near Spain. It was mentioned that she was to about to start working with a private equity company in New York. Despite family and friends saying that Beatrice was set on ‘knuckling down’; she seems to continue her recent trend of travelling around instead. The couple seemed relaxed and in good spirits, clearly enjoying their time on the yacht.
