Members of the international jet set are constantly competing with one another in terms of exclusive and costly playthings. Super yachts are one of the most expensive status symbols and competition gets very interesting. Some of these high-priced toys sport a helipad (or two); some feature water slides, rock climbing walls and expansive movie theaters. Other yachts offer owners state of the art security systems and extremely opulent furnishings. Most have a bit of everything. Every now and then, a no less than spectacular yacht appears in the water.
Built by the Ferretti group company, CRN, in collaboration with Studio Zuccon International Project, over a period of three years, J’ade cost in the vicinity of US$60 million. The yacht was launched at the end of 2013 at the International Boat Show in Italy. J’ade offers all the usual luxuries like a steam room, a gym, a plunge pool and lavish guest cabins. Every detail of the interior decor was carefully considered and jade green accents were included in the design with the aim of making guests feel the ambiance of the ocean throughout. Like many other luxurious yachts J’ade even has an aquarium onboard.
What makes J’ade that bit more special than the other fantastic yachts around?
J’ade has the world’s very first floating garage on-board. The garage has a hydraulic hatch leading to an area that was created for storing a speedboat. The speedboat can simply drive in through the hatch and park; no need for hoisting it out of the water. When not in use as a storage facility for an expensive toy, the 18,000 litre area doubles as an indoor ocean swimming pool. Guests can access the floating garage/ocean pool from the terrace on the lower deck and use it for swimming in the ocean, without the unprotected vastness of the ocean that many people are not too keen on.
