Exciting news in wealthy Russian yachting circles is the imminent launch of Russian billionaire industrialist Oleg Deripaska’s new yacht. The 50-metre long luxury yacht is called Selenga and is rumoured to have been sold to Deripaska for around a billion roubles.

The Selenga is just one of many super expensive yachts that belong to Russian oligarchs. Here are nine more to be found on the oceans around the globe:

The Eclipse – US$1.1 billion

Measuring a whopping 163 metres in length, this superyacht belongs to Roman Abramovich and has a cinema, two helipads, a beauty salon, pools… and bulletproof windows.

Yacht of Omar – US$600 million

Owned by Alisher Usmanov the Yacht of Omar is 110 metres long, has a helipad, pool and elegant dining facilities. It is designed for the absolute luxury of 21 guests, taken care of by as many as 47 crew members.

Yacht A – US$ 390 million

One of the largest yachts in the world, A can reach up to 35km/h and has touch sensitive controls. The décor is extravagantly expensive – even the bathroom taps are estimated to be worth around US$40,000 each.

The Serene – US$300 million

Two helipads, a swimming pool and an area designed especially to house the yacht’s submarines are some of the features of the 4,500 square metre yacht that belongs to Yuri Scheffler.

The Palladium – US$220 million

Winner of the ‘Innovation’ category at the World Yachts Trophies in 2010, the Palladium has a large garage and eight cabins that can accommodate 16 people. The luxurious yacht is owned by Mikhail Prokhorov.

Luna – US$175 million

Also owned by Roman Abramovich, the Luna has helipads and pools and a communications tower equipped with radar.

Yacht Ice – US$170 million

Ice has the most advanced noise absorption and vibration technology. Suleyman Kerimov is the owner of this futuristic yacht.

Le Grand Bleu – US$100 million

Eugene Schvidler became the owner of Le Grand Bleu after his friend and business associate Roman Abramovich gave it to him. The yacht has a helipad, a motor boat and a sailing boat – and it makes a lovely gift.

The Dilbar – US$100 million

The Dilbar features everything for water sports like jet skis, wakeboards and diving equipment, a pool, helipad, gym and much more. Alisher Usmanov named his yacht after the other love of his life – his mother.
