This Year the Barcelona Boat Show is All about Entrepreneurship and Advancement
The 57th annual Barcelona International Boat Show proved to be the biggest and most advanced yet. Held in the Catalans in Port Vell, the show featured more display cases and boats than previous years and also offered visitors the opportunity to learn about navigation as they enjoy the displays and discover what the future of sailing holds.
Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology
Arranged by the National Association of Nautical Companies in collaboration by Fira de Barcelona, the show had a progressive theme. Over 120 new boat-related products were displayed showing visitors how the industry leaders of the world are using advancements to develop improved engine and electronic parts for boats. Major revelations were made about technological innovations that improve the performance of yachts, sailing boats and speedboats alike.
On Water and on Land
The show stretched across water and land and occupied a record space of 25,400 square meters. One of the biggest floating shows in recent years displayed over 171 of the very best vessels available to sailing enthusiasts, while smaller boats and inflatables were put on show alongside trailers, sails, engines, nautical services and electronic equipment. There was a strong brand presence from Solaris, Sunseeker, Azimut, Bayliner and Dufour displaying their latest market offerings.
A More Comprehensive Show This Year
Although innovation featured strongly at this year’s Barcelona Boat Show, it also offered a wide range of other attractions. No matter how impressive the industry’s top innovations are, not everybody can afford a brand new Sunseeker or Solaris. Visitors to the show were given the opportunity to acquire a second-hand boat in an area specially allocated to offering pre-loved boats from 18m to 30m in length. This year’s show also placed a special focus on light and sports sailing and arranged an assortment of experiences and activities that promote sailing.
